Convention 2013 Re-Cap
Thanks for coming! We had a great time. Here are some quick notes.
Classes on Thursday & Friday were well received, with topics like Medeco M3 and several Kaba E-Plex offerings. Roger Penner taught an Electronic Safe Lock Spiking class that got great reviews.
The CPR class looked like fun too.
Friday night, we had a Social with snacks & a cash bar, courtesy of A-Line Distributors
We set up the two big door prizes: Smart TV & Sound System, with a Wii and played games & cranked up the music. Saturday at the trade show, Heather Lovell sold over $1000.00 in raffle tickets for the sound system, resulting in a donation of some $850.00 to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Saturday night at the Pub Night, Richard Hart won the Smart TV. He told Us he couldn't wait for his grandson to come over and show him how to hook it up.

PLAA Scholarships were awarded at the trade show. Tyler Bryson (right, below) took 3rd period. Tyler Shagory took 4th.
Ted Tetreau of Abloy Canada, Shaun Lovell of Red Deer College, and Scholarship recipient Tyler Bryson. Tyler Shagory was not present. The 4th period scholarship is sponsored by Rutherford Controls Inc.
The PLAA's trade show booth was very professionally manned
The Silent Auction received quite a few donations and raised money for the PLAA's Scholarship fund.
Jeremy Bryson won the bid for one of two "Heather Lovell original"s that she took & framed.
Kris Hofstede donated his beard to charity!
Jenn Henderson enthusiastically volunteered for the job.
Saturday Night Pub Night at Billy Bob's turned out to be a lot more fun than it sounded like in the brochure. We had the place to ourselves for the first few hours and did some calf roping on the dance floor, guided by rodeo veteran Joe Butterfield and his son Curtis. Great drinks & snacks were sponsored by Medeco.
Here's Morris' winning photo .... taken to show off his Silent Auction purchase
